What is the classification of carburizing

According to different carbon-containing media, carburizing can be divided into gas carburizing, solid carburizing, liquid carburizing, and carbonitriding (cyanidation).

Gas carburizing is to put the workpiece into a closed carburizing furnace, pass in gas infiltration agent (methane, ethane, etc.) or liquid infiltration agent (kerosene or benzene, alcohol, acetone, etc.) to decompose activated carbon atoms at high temperature , Infiltrate the surface of the workpiece to obtain a high-carbon surface layer of a carburizing operation process.

Solid carburizing is to pack the workpiece and solid carburizing agent (composed of charcoal plus accelerator) in a closed carburizing box, put the box into a heating furnace to heat to the carburizing temperature, and keep it for a certain period of time to make the activated carbon atoms One of the earliest carburizing methods to infiltrate the surface of a workpiece.

Liquid carburizing is the use of liquid media for carburizing. Commonly used liquid carburizing media include: silicon carbide, "603" carburizing agent, etc.

Carbonitriding (cyanidation) is divided into gas carbonitriding, liquid carbonitriding, and solid carbonitriding.
