Explanation of terms of various carburizing processes
1carpurizing,carburization
In order to improve the carbon content of the surface layer of the workpiece and form a carbon content gradient, the workpiece is heated and insulated in the carburizing medium to make the carbon atoms penetrate into the chemical heat treatment process.
2pack carburizing,solid carburizing,box carburizing,powder carburizing
Carburizing by placing the workpiece in a sealed box filled with granular carburizing agent.
3gas carburizing
Carburizing of workpiece in carbonaceous gas.
Drip carburizing
Liquid carburizing agents such as benzene, alcohol, ketone and kerosene are directly dropped into the furnace for gas carburization.
5partial pressure carburizing,vacuum carburizing,low pressure carburizing
Below 1 × Carburizing under the condition of 105Pa (usually 102pa ~ 104pa) in carburizing atmosphere.
6high temperature carburizing
Carburizing above 950 ℃.
7localized carburizing,selective carburizing
Carburizing only a part or some area of the workpiece
8homogeneous carburizing
Carburization of thin workpieces from surface to center.
9carbide dispersion carburizing
Carburizing in which fine dispersed carbides are obtained on the carburized surface to improve the service capacity of the workpiece.
10sheet carburizing
After carburizing and quenching of the workpiece, the total hardened layer depth or effective hardened layer depth of the surface is less than or equal to 0.3mm.
11deep carburizing
The effective hardened layer depth of the workpiece after carburizing and quenching is more than 3mm.
12carbon restoration
Carburizing to restore the initial carbon content after decarburization of the workpiece for some reason.
