How to operate the salt bath furnace
Oct. 29, 2020
Operation of salt bath furnace
1. The equipment should be in good condition, the control device is working normally, the water cooling jacket is unblocked, there is no water leakage, the fan is working normally, and the furnace body and transformer shell are grounded reliably.
2. When the work is stopped halfway, the transformer should be adjusted to low gear for heat preservation or the control current should be reduced, and the furnace cover should be covered to minimize heat loss.
3. Wear protective glasses, gloves and other labor protection supplies during operation to prevent burns; when operating in front of a high-temperature furnace, wear colored protective glasses.
4. When adjusting the gear of the transformer, the power must be cut off to avoid burning the contacts.
5. It is strictly forbidden to place workpieces, tools and other items on the transformer busbar.
6. When adding water to the nitrate bath or alkali bath, it is best to do it at room temperature. If water must be added at a higher temperature, the temperature should not exceed 150°C, and it should be poured slowly.
7. When used for a long time, the furnace temperature should not exceed the rated value. The high temperature furnace is 1320℃, the medium temperature furnace is 950℃, and the nitrate furnace is 600℃.
8. The salt bath should regularly deoxidize the slag and add new salt to maintain the height of the salt surface.
9. The heating position of the workpiece in the furnace should be moderate and not close to the furnace wall, furnace bottom and electrode.
10. Automatic temperature control device should be adopted, and the time of entering and exiting the furnace should be automatically controlled and accurately.
11. Adjust the temperature according to the relevant procedures.
12. Do not put wet salt and wet parts into the furnace. Workpieces must be fully preheated before being heated in the bath.
13. Do not put the clamps and quenching hooks with nitrate into the high and medium temperature salt bath furnace.
14. Do not throw waste paper, cotton yarn ends, and plastic bags into the furnace for burning.
15. The waste residue should be stored in a fixed place, after the "three wastes" treatment or handed over to the environmental protection department, not dumped at will.
