What is Quenching/Hardening
Quenching heat treatment process in which the metal workpiece is heated to an appropriate temperature and kept for a period of time, and then immersed in a quenching medium for rapid cooling, eventually martensite tissue is obtained.
Quenching purpose:
1) Improve the mechanical properties of the workpiece, such as hardness, strength, wear resistance, elastic limit, etc.
2) Improve the physical or chemical properties of some special steel grades, such as corrosion resistance, magnetism, conductivity, etc.
Application:
gears, rollers, carburized parts, etc.
