What is the best cooling rate for aluminum alloy quenching?

When the aluminum alloy is quenched in the furnace, the cooling rate must ensure that the supersaturated solid solution is fixed and not decomposed. Prevent the hardening phase from precipitation and reduce the mechanical properties after quenching and aging. Therefore, the faster the quenching rate, the better. However, the greater the cooling rate is, the greater the residual stress and deformation of the quenched products will be. Therefore, the cooling rate of aluminum alloy should be determined according to different alloys and products of different shapes and sizes.

The quenching of general alloys is sensitive to the cooling speed, so the cooling speed should be chosen. For example, the cooling speed of 2A11 and 2A12 alloy quenching furnace should be above 50℃/s, while 7A04 alloy is very sensitive to the cooling speed, its quenching cooling speed is required to be above 170℃/s.
